Purdue Koran Association (PKA) is committed to protecting the privacy of our members. We want to provide a safe, secure member service. Please read the following to learn more about how we treat information of members.
Aggregated Data About Members
In general, we gather information about all of Korean graduate students collectively, and such as what areas they study. We only use such data anonymously and in the aggregate. This information helps us to determine what is most beneficial for our members, and how we can continually create a better overall service for you. We may share this information with third parties, but only in the aggregate, so that they too may understand how visitors use our site, so they may create a better overall service for you as well.
Personally Identifiable Information
PKA collects personally identifiable information from Purdue University when you register for graduate programs in Purdue University, when you attend certain events or campaigns sponsored by PKA and when you enter personal information on the various message boards of PKA website. We may also ask you for updated information, such as e-mail address, your likes and dislikes regarding the “to-all-PKA members” e-mail, the types of information you want to see on the web, etc., in an effort to deliver to you the best possible membership experience. With your permission, we may use that information to contact you about new site feature announcements, career events, enhancements and general updates. We consider that PKA already have your permission to use your e-mail addresses to send “to-all-members” e-mails and to reveal personal information (name, e-mail address, academic department) of representatives from various organizations via web site. PKA also provides you with the opportunity to opt-out of these types of communications. If you decide no longer want to receive them, simply send us an e-mail to opt-out. All users should be aware that when they voluntarily display or distribute personal information (such as their e-mail address) on the web, that information could be collected and used by others. This may result in unsolicited messages form third parties, for which PKA is not responsible.
General Information Disclosure
PKA makes message boards to its members. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information, and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information. It is our intention that only PKA members or prospective graduate students will have access to the message boards, but cannot guarantee that other parties will not, without our consent, gain access to these boards. You may remove your posting from our searchable message boards at any time. However, PKA members and other parties who have otherwise gained access to the boards may have retained a copy of your posting in their own files or databases. We are not responsible for the retention, use, or privacy of postings in these instances, or for the use or privacy of postings by any of such parties while postings are in the message boards.
PKA has an area on the site where you can submit feedback. Any feedback that is submitted through this area becomes the property of PKA. We may use this feedback, such as questions or comments, for web site enhancements, or to contact you for further feedback on the site.
Privacy Commitment Changes
If we decide to change our privacy commitment for PKA, we will post those changes here so that you will always know what information we gather, how we might use that information, and whether we will disclose it to anyone. If, at any time, you have questions or concerns about PKA’s privacy commitment, please feel free to e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
